The forward to Yoga and preparation
The book “Yegadagella Aite” by Belagere Krishna Shastri is well-known among Kannada readers, and some people are also familiar with Sri Ajithakumar’s “Yoga Pravesha”. The best present for yoga fans is Yogi BKS Iyengar’s book, “Yoga Dipiak,” which is the work of the Bhishma Pitamaha (grandfather) of yoga. The purpose of this example is simply to point out that the Gurushishya Parampara in front of us is descended from a very large lineage, as can be observed in this Kannada region. True Yoga is the embodiment of the Sadhana path of all these, including Shiva Yoga of Anubhavamantapa, Yogini lineage of Akkamahadevi, Yoga of Spirituality of Dasa literature, Vedic texts, and story-literature. We who identify as members of the yoga community must make sure that factors such as status, caste, country of origin, gender, age, and language do not obstruct yoga practice like the White Ganga. Yoga transcends all of them, but despite that, the practitioner feels a supernatural, natural impact from this purity.

Yoga was given a formal perspective by Patanjali Maharishi. About 2,500 years ago, the Yoga as a stream of Darshana came into being. The branches of the Maharishi Panini’s knowledge tree are said to flow into the philosophical subfields of grammar, Ayurveda, and Yoga, according to scholars of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). People began misrepresenting yoga as a secular ritual rather than linking it with the Vedic philosophy, Sankhya-Yoga, and there is currently an effort to sever the roots of this association to India. Mantras can be found in the Vedas, which are the foundational texts of yoga.

Who ought to stand for a Yogic insight? are the Yogis who practice, engage with, and comprehend the tenets of yoga? or dim-witted academics who boast about using yoga as a dry logical massage to make anything more physical? The endeavour of each Yogi and Yoga is witnessed by Space, Time, and Contexts. The purpose of yoga is to practice, to become detached, and to be prepared to approach Kaivalya. The greatest saints have emphasized this from the beginning in their teachings.

Does yoga require readiness in addition to qualifications as a precondition for practice? A need for power? Are the conditions suitable? The Bible refers to this as Adhikara. Adhikari is the name for someone who possesses Adhikara. In yoga, this authority is not a privilege like in politics; rather, it is a matter of competence-worthiness. An Adhikari is one who would be qualified for the practice of Yoga.

If you’re wondering if practicing yoga calls for any specific abilities or virtues, the answer is yes. It takes willingness and aspiration. If one wants to avoid falling, they must strive very hard. To achieve, one requires an innocent intensity. For one to advance and conquer nature, wisdom is required. One wants the rush of having their eyes wide open while viewing large objects. It takes flower-softness to not belittle the accomplishments of others and the will to follow them. To blend with the large thing, one requires a melting humility. One requires a mindset that is ready to let up of their individual identity when it is time to support the main by doing so. One must have the skill of coldly rejecting what is Adharma. One must have the skill of dispassionately rejecting what is Adharma. One must exercise restraint by doing what is Dharmic and refraining from doing what is Adharma.

In addition, the officer is correct if there is a sincere effort to put at least one of the attributes listed above into practice. This is just beginning for the introduction to the topic of Yoga which will be discussed in the next issues.
